The 3x3 magic speed cube is a twisty puzzle that has the shape of a cube, with 3 axes. Each axis has 2 cuts along it, with a total of 6 center pieces, 12 edge pieces and 8 corner pieces.
The original Rubik’s Cube was invented by Erno Rubik (a Hungarian architect) in 1974. It was then mass produced and still is, to this date, with major advancements in mechanism and technology. Many companies then began designing their own versions, with better turning, corner-cutting and lubrication.
Soon, the speedcubes took over the cubing scene, and were in huge demand, with people wanting to get faster and faster. It has come so far that we now use magnets and chemicals to enhance performance to the maximum level!!
Technological advances have occurred in nearly all avenues of engineering in the world, and cubing is no stranger to these! Smart cubes are 3x3s that can be connected to your own devices, using certain apps as well as the Bluetooth feature.
Having your cube connected to an app that tracks every turn, every scramble, every solve time and every rotation is very useful! It also serves as a platform to race online, without having to separately verify your own solves, since the app automatically detects the exact time when the cube is solved.
Apart from these smart cubes, the collection also houses the GAN Robot, which is a 3-D piece of technology that can solve the cube that you put into its holders by itself!
