Speedcubing is a sport that involves solving a variety of puzzles (called twisty puzzles) as quickly as possible. Most puzzles involve solving the scrambled state with a sequence of steps that eventually leads to each face having the same colour of pieces on it. However, some puzzles have different goals, such as the Rubik’s Clock.
Most beginners are introduced to speedcubing with the 3x3 Rubik’s Cube, and learn to solve it with a simple method. However, there are many different types of puzzles that beginners will enjoy, and these are housed in the ‘Beginner’ puzzle collection. It also has many types of accessories that are great fun to own and solve as well.
Companies such as MoYu, QiYi and Cubelelo (among others) are pioneers in developing puzzles that are suited to the nascent turning styles of beginners, and also at prices that seem reasonable at that stage of their cubing journey.
